Lilith's Song

What can be said of She,
The woman who dared to be greater than He?
Give her honor for magnifying the dark.
Desire and domination are rewards of her labor.

Come to her.
Eat. Drink.
Satisfying impulses,
While restraints are bound.

Revel in her pleasures.
In the dark she appears.
Children beware, mothers fear,
Her way is one of vengeance.

Bringing men into her lair,
Her wiles hide the grip of terror.
Her beauty blinds the eyes.

Don't go into her web.
Submit not to her embrace.
Her rule will end.
Her ways will stop.
Darkness reveals She,
The woman who dared to be greater than He.

Inspiration: Poem inspired by the woman of the "Mystery of Babylon" described in Revelation. The Christian must not partake of her allures and remain faithful to Christ. Based upon Revelation 15:5 - And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
